Benefits of Blogging for Students Having students write a blog is an effective strategy of making student thinking visible.  As a math teacher, this is often the goal.  By having students blog, we can gain insight into their comfort level with new material.  Additionally, we can check for a deeper level of understanding than we would gain by simply looking over a students written work.  Having kids blog would also provide them with an outlet to ask questions outside of the classroom environment, and, perhaps, receive answers from someone other than their teacher.
